Our new winter course offers you the opportunity to intensively learn basic German in a pleasant atmosphere. With successful completion of the course, you will have reached breakthrough level A1.1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Previous German knowledge is not required. The course encompasses 90 lessons, built around the textbook “Themen Aktuell”. Topics covered include ‘First Contact’, ‘Household Items’, ‘Eating & Drinking’, ‘Leisure’, and ‘Living’.
You don’t need prior knowledge of the German language to enter our summer course. By completing this course you can achieve a good knowledge of German, equivalent to the A1 basic user - breakthrough level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The course comprises of 240 lessons, during which two highly regarded textbooks will be comprehensively covered. Around 10 lessons will be spent on examination training, preparing participants for the Start Deutsch 1 exam. From the summer of 2009, this course is also offered for the more advanced A2 and B1 levels.

The Test of German as a Foreign Language (TestDaF), is centrally compiled at the TestDaF Institute and is subject to a centralised evaluation procedure. Examinations are carried out world wide by test centres licensed by the TestDaF Institute. This exam is particularly relevant for students who wish to study in Germany and need proof of their advanced German language skills. In this course, we will familiarise you with the format and content of the TestDaF exam, preparing you for it in a professional and effective manner.

Beyond standard language courses, the Goethe-Jinchuang Language Centre also offers customised courses. Available for every level of experience, this can take the form of one-on-one tuition, or lessons in a small group, as per request. Beyond the standard language tuition offered in the categories oral comprehension, reading comprehension, spoken, and written German, we are happy to include specific areas such as e.g. business German. The total number of lessons depends on your requirements.
Please note: to effectively improve language skills, a minimum length of 80 lessons is recommended, to be completed within not more than six months.
We also offer corporate courses. For employees of foreign companies in Shanghai, or local companies doing business with German companies, an investment in language skills can mean a deepening of the relationship within the own company or with business partners.
